Reggie Watts - Fuck Shit Stack

This joint goes down so smoothly, after about 30 seconds you don’t even realize anymore you’re basically listening to a giant stack of fuck with shit with fuck stacked on top of it. I especially like how Reggie looks like the bastard twin of ?uest Luv mixed with Richard D. James from the Windowlicker video in this one.

The Bumblebeez - “Misfit”

The Glue Society directed this wonderfully weird video for The Bumblebeez.

An ode to all the people that don’t fit in and do their thing anyways.

P.S. I’m in the process of moving this blog from tumblr to a local hosted Wordpress solution so please bear with me when posting is slow at the moment.

If there’s one thing that stuck with me from my time in Copenhagen it’s the love for a very special retro arcade game called Donkey Kong.
Back in the day when the monkey still was a tragic villain opposed to the goofy, good hearted fellow that he is today and Mario was still called Jumpman and the first faulty English localization would ask you ‘How high can you try?’ instead of ‘get’.
It’s a unsurpassed simplistic yet extremely challenging gaming experience that made the hours of rendering vanish into thin air.
This expressionistic adaption by Brock Davis aka Laser Bread is probably the most original, instantly recognizable and praise worthy homage to the game I’ve ever seen.
The paintings of Dig Dug and Missile Command are equally good, but I just don’t have the same strong connection to those games. If he did one of Space Invaders on the other hand it would be a strong competition.

Grizzly Bear

Grizzly Bear - Cheerleader (Neon Indian ‘Studio 6669’ Remix)

Grizzly Bear - Cheerleader (Neon Indian ‘Sega Genesis P-Orridge’ Remix)

Neon Indian takes on the overhyped but none the less great Grizzly Bear and delivers not one but two reworks of the song ‘Cheerleader’ form the current album Veckatimest.

As we’ve come to expect from the texan duo they once more work that dreamy synth driven sound that wraps around you like a warm blanket while washing over you like a warm breeze at the sea.

The closest thing of being on XTC without popping a pill.

Wordle generates beautiful wordclouds from texts or the RSS feed of your or your favourite blog. I like how ‘remember’ sticks out in mine though I don’t even remember typing that. If you squint it also looks like a guinnypig. The ‘guy’ is the eye and the the legs you have to imagine but still…

Ghetto Boys - “Still”

In the year 1996 three fine young lads from Houston, Texas brought us this juicy chunk of murda musik. Three years later Dr. Dre put out another joint with the same name. Unfortunately the song wasn’t nearly as hateful and worse, nobody was rapping about shooting people, thus rendering it useless for fans of the mm genre.

This tune on the other hand is pure, ruff thugsta poetry right from tha hood where bruvas be be triflin and a grand won’t come for free and even when crackin’ an occasional smile you betta remember, ain’t a damn thing funny.

Perfect sountdrack for beating up a printer by the way. (Props to Kay for pointing the track out to me).
