It’s better to fade out than to burn away. -Kurt Cobain (sort of…)

“Fade Out is” a stunning visual installation by media artists Daito Manabe and Motoi Ishibashi.

A webcam picture is recreated by laser beams shooting little rectangles of light on a wall coated with photoluminescent paint. The tonal values are achieved by the fading of the rectangles and the temporal intervals of the light bursts.

Not a replacement for your plasma TV, but a mesmerizing sight nevertheless.
